Kalpapreuk serves affordable traditional Thai food located on the 7th floor of Central World. I actually read something online mentioning this as an affordable place to get something to eat and it was close by so I figured I should try it.
I chose Citin Pratunam primarily for its location in Pratunam. I walked from the airport rail link station to the hotel which is about 2-3 blocks away if you know where you’re going. It helps that I am familiar with the area too. Just outside the hotel is a plethora of street food and also a 7-11 nearby. I stayed here twice. One night to leave my luggage and when I returned from Myanmar for a few nights.
The train from Suvarnabhumi International Airport hands down is the cheapest way to get into the city. It costs 40 Baht to get to the last stop. That’s $1.50 or 60 pesos. The station is located on the lower floor of the airport. You can’t miss it, the signs are everywhere.
So I was looking for cheap accommodations near the airport that had free pick up and drop off at the airport. Basically a cheap place to sleep. I didn’t want to get a taxi so late at night into the city. I found a really good deal at booking.com for this hotel and with relatively good reviews. On arrival, I went near exit number 4 on the second floor and asked about The Phoenix hotel among these.
I was told to wait about 20 minutes which was okay since I think they go by the hour or something like that. After 20 minutes, I was led outside to a van. I thought it was just me but there was another mother and daughter guests who rode the van with me which was a comfort. The hotel was located maybe 10-15 minutes away at a residential place. It passed by some scary streets. Haha.
